I founded the group with three others and am now the only active founder and the groups owner.With over 1000 members it is the second biggest Autism Meet-up group in the UK as well as the biggest one overall that has a emphasise on running peer led social based events.The group was created with the aim of addressing the lack of social opportunities and support for adults on the spectrum outside of the limited opportunities that are currently present within the charity sector and as a means to help build social confidence and create genuine friendships.Events are organised and run by those on the spectrum and it is organised and run without any outside funding.On average 2-3 events are run per month in and around London and we have just started to run female specific events due to the lack of social and peer support for women on the autistic spectrum.Founder of Informal Meet-ups For Autistic Adults
