Born and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire, from a young age I was fascinated with electronics, computers and the Internet. At age 14 I founded Unique Hardware, a popular online computer hardware review and modification site. Manufactures would send me and my team of volunteers various items, for free, to review, our opinions were then published to the site.In 2002, running parallel with Unique Hardware, I founded UH Hosting from my bedroom, with an initial £50 investment. Providing web hosting and shell services to SME clients.In 2003 UH Hosting incorporated as UH Hosting Ltd and continued to grow. Pushing in to new growth areas, including co-location, game servers, dedicated servers and virtual hosting.In 2005 UH Hosting is acquired by Open Hosting. I became a director and shareholder of Open Hosting.In 2009, Open Hosting renamed to M247 and a major milestone was achieved early 2009: The completion of M247's initial 147 rack data centre in Trafford Park, Manchester. From this facility M247 provides colocation, cloud and connectivity services to SME and enterprise clients.In 2014 I negotiated M247’s seven figure, all cash acquisition of UK Web Hosting Solutions (UKWSD).By 2016, M247 grew from 8 full time employees in 2009, to over 60 employees based in UK and Romania, with our own datacentres in Manchester and Bucharest, Romania, turning over in excess of £12 million a year.In October 2016, M247 is acquired by Metronet(UK), backed by private equity house Living Bridge, for a total consideration of £47.5 million. Metronet is a hybrid wireless & fibre ISP, headquartered in Manchester.In February 2017, Metronet group acquired London headquartered Venus, a high speed LLU fibre network provider.Our core strategy is to provide our customers with robust technology solutions, enabling them to focus on growing their businesses.Experience includes hosting, cloud, connectivity, datacentres, disaster recovery, backup as a service, virtualisation, storage, security - At a deep technical & commercial level.Have been on both sides of hosting/cloud/msp industry acquisitions with first hand experience of private equity acquisition process.
