Facilities Subsystem Engineering Lead

In my role I manage a team of System Engineers to deliver the Facilities Monitoring and Control (FMC) Subsystem in support of JP9101 Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS). Key responsibilities include:• Maturing the design of subsystem configurable items such as Power Distribution, HVAC, Weather Monitoring, Facilities Monitoring, Security & Surveillance, and Fire Suppression.• Producing technical documentation including: subsystem specifications, interface control documents (ICD), architecture designs, trade studies, verification cross reference matrices (VCRM), requirement traceability matrices (RTM) and design documents. • Advancing the FMC subsystem through ASDEFCON Mandated System Reviews (MSR) including SRR, SDR and PDR.• Managing and reviewing engineering deliverables from key project subcontractors to ensure acceptable design outcomes are delivered in accordance with project plans and timelines.• Maintaining a collaborative relationship with SEG and CASG in a client-facing role to facilitate mutual agreement on defined interfaces and scope boundaries.• Exposure to the management of Trade Control and ITAR requirements for export controlled capability and documentation.• Mentoring and up-skilling engineering interns and graduates through Babcock’s Early Careers program.
