The NT Music Industry Council is a committee comprising key stakeholders from across the Northern Territory Music Industry sector. The aim is to be a representative voice to all levels of Government ensuring that issues affecting the growth of the NT music sector are advocated for strongly.

MusicNT exists to support the growth and development of original contemporary music in the Northern Territory. MusicNT Inc. is the non-profit member based music organisation for the Northern Territory representing, developing and servicing the Territory’s original music industry.As the lead contemporary music development body, MusicNT has a focus on developing and strengthening networks with national music industry representatives as well as strengthening links with regional centres throughout the Territory.MusicNT operates offices in Darwin and Alice Springs.

As a Special Projects & IT Manager, I exercised fiscal authority over all IT capital and operational budget valued at $3.8 million, managing projects in accordance with all relevant company processes, procedures and published best practice. I established, supervised and directed Service Desk operations to deliver excellent levels of service, performance and availability. I also provided leadership, line management and on-the-job guidance and mentoring to IT department staff in a performance management environment.Selected Project Accomplishments:+ Implemented a new accounting system, Sage ERP X3, with minimal disruption to the stakeholders. + Established and managed the Service Desk to support all IT and networking capabilities for the company and staff. + Implemented and managed over 100 point of sale systems across 40 remote Aboriginal communities nationally+ Implemented and managed the company intranet, driving productivity while encouraging knowledge sharing. + Effectively managed the collection and compilation of complete and detailed information for government reporting requirements, including Questions On Notice from federal ministers and other ad-hoc reporting.

Darwin Festival is an 18-day celebration of music, theatre, visual art, dance, cabaret and more in the beautiful tropical city of Darwin. + Oversea the contemporary music program management for the Festival from the outset+ Initial and primary point of contact for music artists and managers from the initial negotiations through to contracting+ Reports directly to the Artistic Director and works collaboratively with the Senior Producer, Program Administrator and liaises with the production and marketing departments.

In this role I was contracted to coordinate the traffic in to the Falls Festival site ensuring a smotth flow of vehicles, minimal hold up and safety of festival goers. The role involved the leadership of up to 30 volunteers at any one time on rotating shifts to make this function a success. With over 5,000 vehicles moving through eight lanes, I was continuously monitoring the situation and using my advanced problem solving skills to provide solutions.

A large part of my role as a Senior Analyst involved managing annual tax compliance obligations including preparation of financial statements and income tax returns, FBT returns and BAS to satisfy internal and external governance processes. To be effective in this role, I maintained detailed understanding of current taxation and accounting issues as well as all entity structures including companies, trusts, partnerships and superannuation funds. I delivered proactive business advice and recommendations to clients, integrating thorough knowledge of business principles, taxation, accounting systems, and the compliance framework to consistently deliver exceptional customer service. Moreover, I served as a panel member of Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) and appointed as an Authorised Officer under the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007. I also contributed to the successful implementation of Income Management (welfare quarantine) across the Northern Territory. As a strategic thinker focused on both short-term delivery and long-term transformation, I embedded a proactive risk management culture and put sufficiently robust structures in place to achieve the effective oversight and management of innovative technology to recognise potential issues or client business opportunities.

A consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and opportunities was essential in order to succeed as a Finance and festival Administration Manager. I was responsible for directing and managing all facets of festival administration, including financial and human resource management, program and event operations, risk management, business administration, corporate governance, and customer service. In this role, I demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to develop a shared vision to lead and coach employees to excellence.With my excellent knowledge of generally accepted finance and accounting principles and practices, I formulated and implemented sound financial and administrative policies, procedures, and internal controls for accounting, auditing, budgeting, purchasing, inventories, payroll, contracts administration, and administrative services. I also managed budgets and provided sound financial advice and forecasting to the Board to maximise cost efficiencies and ensure strict adherence to financial systems and internal controls.Leveraging excellent interpersonal and communication skills, I developed and maintained effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and suppliers. Moreover, I exhibited high level of organisational, analytical and problem solving skills to ensure effective governance through the efficient administration and coordination of meeting agendas, reports, and proposals, making sure that senior management was informed of the performance of the festival against budget.

Previously as a Supervisor, I assisted with the provision of accounting and advisory services to KPMG's clients. I provided leadership, guidance and day to day management of the work and to ensure they were and carry out assigned work. Capitalising on my ability to influence change and build strong collaborative relationships, I ccontributed to the successful execution of client engagements and building the firm's reputation for quality service. I also maintained strong relationships with business development, customer service, financial reporting and KPMG leadership, identifying and suggesting solutions to improve the efficiency of internal processes whilst consistently providing support in evaluating different strategic opportunities and initiatives.
