James has a finance background having worked in the NZ banking sector for over 30 years in range of roles predominately in the business and commercial banking markets.James has a dual role as Head of Franchise for ASB and has specialised in the franchise sector for nearly 20 years. He also heads ASB’s delivery of specialist services to Professional Business, primarily a focus of Third Party and Trust funds held by the likes of Law firms, Accountancy Firms, Property managers, Body Corporates, and other specific financial intermediaries. On the franchise side he has extensive experience and skills in creating structured finance and bespoke banking solutions for franchise clients of all sizes. More latterly his focus has been expanding the ASB profile and reach into the franchise sector with a strong emphasis on promoting an accreditation model for established franchise systems.He brings knowledge and extensive relationships across the franchise sector and its varied markets. James' experience enables him to recognise and promote the characteristics of successful franchise systems through sharing best practices to his clients.James is a past board member of The Franchise Association of New Zealand Inc. and lives in Auckland with his wife Kim and has four adult sons.Other interests include fishing, trout fishing, golf, mountain biking and rugby.
