James is a multiple award-winning trilingual TV News Anchor/Reporter and University Lecturer from Ireland based in the UK.He's a double graduate of The National University of Ireland in Galway and NCTJ/BJTC accredited Masters in Broadcast Journalism at Sheffield University, England. After working in TV for a number of years Mahon returned to part time education completing a PgCert in Teaching and a PhD in Mobile Journalism at the University of the West of Scotland. He is currently a Senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy.The BBC trained broadcast journalist has held on air roles in both the UK and Ireland in FM and Digital radio, while also being an online host and TV presenter with Forge TV, RTE News2day and 50Lb Films before moving to the US to CBS affiliate WDEF TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he was a news reporter and anchor. He has produced and presented multiple long form TV programmes and documentaries for both PBS Passport and Amazon Prime Video winning more than half a dozen film festivals throughout 2019 and 2020. 2021 saw Mahon return to national TV as a freelance TV reporter with RTUK covering Scottish politics and then with UTV Live on ITV in Northern Ireland and now ITV Border and ITN Business in Scotland.
