Technical leader for a multithreaded Android mapping and Web Services integration. The Android application written in Java utilized open source mapping library OSMDROID that rendered open street map served by a private map server. Technical leader for a Android multimedia application which captured video and photo that would be bundled with GPS data to be SFTP’ed up to the storage server.

I was team member for the wireless LAN device driver team for STEricsson mobile platform group. The mobile platform group provides the design both hardware and software to handset companies to produce mobile phones for the consumer market. The role of the WLAN team was to supply an API to the application level all the way down to the WLAN chip.I was tasked to redesign the IP packet handling from the firmware up to the WPA supplicant under OSE real time operating system which is entirely signals based for communication between processes. This was quite a challenge due to the signal based interrupt handling approach that was taken.I made changes to driver base code for simulated environment in C for a more comprehensive testing environment for developers to provide more real life scenarios for the end user application. This required changes to the testing suite and new tests to be created in Python.I integrated the Coverity code analysis tool with Eclipse SDK and modified driver base code for developers as a tool to check for any coding standard violations, possible memory leaks and misuse of variable declarations.I was apart of the initial investigation team for Android platform migration which included investigating the Android boot up processes, become more familiar with QEMU and the Goldfish virtual hardware which is used in the Android SDK emulator.

I designed and developed a prototype application for Symbian for a mobile communication using GSM data channels. These data channels are called CSD or circuit switched data and are bidirectional 9.6kbps channels. The application would take the audio from the microphone audio buffer then commpressed the audio using AMR encoding down to 4.5kbps then encrypted the audio with AES to be sent over the CSD channel. On the receiver side the application reversed the encoding chain and played the audio through the earpiece. This provided encrypted audio over a GSM network.I developed classes in Symbian C++ for a custome GPS solution for mobile phones befor embedded GPS in mobile phones as we are familar with today. These classes communicated with a programmable controller through a custom command set to initialize the GPS chip, make firmware calls to begin acquiring GPS data and retrieving data to be stored on the Symbian mobile phone.
