Fort Hood, Texas

Served as the Director of Equipment Management Branch, overseeing the Biomedical Engineering Services Program, Medical Equipment Contract Program, Medical Materiel Research and Procurement Program, and the Property Book Life Cycle Management Department of a 125-bed Army Medical Center. Equipment management scope included seven primary health clinic sites, 22 specialty clinics, four troop medical clinics, one Army Depot Occupational Health Clinic, a Warrior Transition organization, seven dental and four veterinary clinics under the management of the medical center. Served as a member of the Working Priority Budget Acquisition Committee, Executive Priority Budget Acquisition Committee, the Environment of Care/Safety Committee and the Facility Space Committee. Served as the Medical Equipment Transition Officer for the Military Healthcare Outfitting & Transition team for the new replacement medical center at Fort Hood, TX (Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center). Served as the lead medical equipment planner on a team of Program/ Project Mangers, Project Schedulers, Medical Care Planners, Procurement Specialists, Clinical Staff, and Hospital Administrators in a joint venture on the completion of the new $466 million medical center. Coordinated and executed move schedules, produced comprehensive move day management plans, comprehensive phasing timelines and graphics, in various formats assisting the team in the management of assigned projects improving the medical centers transition.

Ensures information systems have connectivity while verifying data integrity through daily processes. Ensured data validation, transfer, and training were conducted for new logistic, property and maintenance management SAP program, GCSS-Army.

Fort Bragg, North Carolina

Serves as the Lead Healthcare Technology Manager for the largest, most complex 248 bed Combat Support Hospital in the active Army. Managed over $50 million in medical devices to ensure proper inspections, services, and repairs are performed. Responsible for all Safety protocols within the Hospital that range from OSHA, Fire and Life Safety, Safe Medical Devices Act (SMDA), Radiation Protection and hazardous chemicals and waste. Ensured that all staff members were train on operator level equipment and safety procedures.

Afghanistan

Serves as the Healthcare Technology Manager for the largest and most complex Multi-functional Medical Task Force (TF) consisting of 18 units comprised of over 650 Soldiers arrayed across all 6 Regional Commands in Afghanistan. Advises the TF Commander with planning, executing, and reporting of $60 million of tactical vehicles and medical equipment maintenance in support of two Veterinary Detachments, two Preventive Medicine Detachments, two Combat Stress Detachments, the Theaters only MEDLOG Company and Blood Supply Detachment, four Role 2 Forward Surgical Elements, two flex Forward Surgical Teams and a Dental Company throughout the combined joint operations area. Provides guidance on medical equipment procedures, standardization, and life cycle management. Serves as the Task Force Safety Officer responsible for directly advising and assisting the TF Commander in developing and implementing risk management principles and accident reporting for the entire Task Force.

Responsible for all aspects of the 41 week MOS production Tri-Service DoD Basic Biomedical Equipment Technician Training Course and the 9 Advanced Equipment Repairer Functional Courses; to include supervision of 54 military and civilian instructors, and support staff personnel. Accountability for equipment and materials in excess of $2.5 million. Coordinates, directs, and plans training for over 400 tri-service students annually. Provides direct input to the Army Personnel Proponent Directorate for student allocation and scheduling requirements. Reviews and evaluates course curricula, instructional material, and evaluation methods to ensure compliance with ITRO standards and adherence to the policies of the Dean, AMEDDC&S. Coordinates and executes the task selection process for the Critical Task Selection Board for the 68A career field.

Served as the Shop Foreman and Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician. Responsible for the assignment of scheduled and unscheduled work orders to include remedial repair, preventive maintenance checks and services, electrical safety testing, calibration/verification, and installation of medical devices for a 63 bed community hospital while supporting 26 medical, dental, and veterinary clinical services. Responsible for the health, welfare, discipline, and technical and tactical development of 13 soldiers and 6 civilian employees.
