Marketforce Uk Ltd
*Acted as an analytical interface for the Retail Sales team, consisting of a Retail Director, three Retail Channel Managers and 12 National Account Managers (NAMs). *Discussed Retail Sales issues independently on a day to day basis with individuals of such authority and experience of the magazine category, which increased my confidence, refined my communication skills and instilled further belief in my abilities to succeed in a role that dictates systems-led and timely support.*Key project work included the creation of a Retail Sales Pack, which details magazine performance updates by retail multiple group. Accounts included Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, The Co-op and WH Smith High Street. *Working with such high-profile brand names ensured my retail reporting to be intuitive, directive, and, most importantly, accurate. Fulfilling the aforementioned criteria was a prerequisite to achieve the planning objectives of numerous magazine titles, as well as those financial set out by the NAMs.*The compilation of the above packs evolved my understanding of Business Objects, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Consequently, it developed my ability to translate numerical data into meaningful conclusions for key decision makers, often via analytical commentary. *Using Microsoft Excel on a daily basis ensured my software-specific skills reached an advanced level, where I am now proficient in pivot tables, numerous formulae (including 'v/hlookups', 'if statements', 'nested if statements' and 'count') and macro creation to aid data analysis. *The frequent presentation of retail performance results to NAMs and external Buyers significantly increased my confidence in analysing results in front of an audience.*The Retail Sales Pack received company-wide acclaim within the first ever 'Marketforce Awards', where it won the individual award for 'Outstanding Customer Service' (Jan 2008).
