Starting out as a City lawyer in corporate and private equity transactions, I developed a strong foundation in analysis and strategy. I made a successful transition into a sales role where I built up a new market from scratch and became a top-billing consultant.For most of the past decade, my focus has been on entrepreneurship. I co-founded The Hackney, an events agency and venue. What started out as a side-hustle has grown to become my core focus. I lead our operational team, oversee finances, and work with my co-founders to drive our strategic vision. With no outside investors, we’ve built a brand that values authenticity, quality, and personalised client experiences. I’m particularly interested in how AI and automation can enhance our offerings, and fundamentally shift the balance for small business, helping us to streamline operations, deliver real value to clients and help us compete with much larger organisations. I’ve also had the opportunity to develop and launch a DTC brand, as well as experience working with Amazon FBA.I’m passionate about entrepreneurship and always open to connecting with like-minded individuals. As co-founder of East London Tea Co., I played a pivotal role in launching our direct-to-consumer (DTC) business during the Covid pandemic, after spotting a gap in the specialty tea market. I led our market research efforts and developed both product and marketing strategies, focusing on building the DTC brand while also driving significant revenue through Amazon. Additionally, we successfully expanded in to hospitality sector, partnering with several independent five-star hotels and Hilton locations.Ultimately, we decided to close the business as our other venture started to take off, teaching us an invaluable lesson on the importance of focus. It was a profitable exercise and a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in launching a DTC product business, as well as working with Amazon/FBA.
