The elimination of excessive moisture is no longer an art. It is now a very precise and predictable science. We no longer measure water by drops; we now calculate "grains of moisture". Relative humidity can be measured and calculated with the use of established laws of physics on psychometric charts. Drying times of almost every substance can be accurately calculated by using known formulas to measure density, absorption factors, and moisture release characteristics. JOB DUTIES:1. Performing daily flight line and hangar maintenance and repairs on assigned aircraft;2. Performing both major and minor structural modifications;3. Performing inspections, corrosion control procedures, trouble-shooting and fault isolation procedures on aircraft systems [this generally requires PQV Level II certification];4. Performing interior trim repairs and/or modifications;5. Working under general guidance in such operations as disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating and other operations required to maintain the airworthiness of aircraft and all their components, while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification;6. Operating and utilizing all necessary ground support equipment, including but not limited to, portable lighting, auxiliary power carts, air conditioning and other ventilation equipment;7. Fabricating parts within approved procedures;8. Laying out and assembling first article floor mounted type console and rack assemblies without the aid of templates, jigs, fixtures, etc.9. Entering and retrieving production and other job-related data or information using computer systems or other electronic equipment;10. Employees who are assigned a Product Quality Verification (PQV) Level II certification buy off (work performed meets specifications) their own work and verify the accuracy of work performed by non-certified /licensed employees, within their occupation. Level I employees will only buy off their own work;11. Using fork lift trucks, small tugs, etc. to move support equipment and aircraft components, but not to other hangar bays or to other areas across the field outside immediate work areas;12. Using blueprints, production drawings, written procedures, technical work orders as necessary to complete assigned work.
