People often find it unusual that a Midwesterner like me (born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio), wound up settling on the east coast of Canada, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. For me, it just played out as a natural progression. I’ve always had faith in my journey and where it has led me. I’m a pretty open-minded and easy-going guy. I tend to bring a sense of calm to my surrounding environments. This has served me well in my 20-year career in mental health. My career started out in Boston and eventually moved north to Canada. Over that time, I have helped hundreds of vulnerable individuals develop individual treatment plans. I’ve assisted them in their times of crisis, and advocated for them on issues that include education, employment, legal, medical, income assistance, and housing. I’ve taken part in fund-raising initiatives, networked with local businesses, government offices and non-profits, and given dozens of public speaking engagements. The older I get, the more curious I am about the world. Ironically, I ask more questions now than I ever did as a kid. I’m a voracious reader. I love fiction just as much as I do digging into an interesting non-fiction book about economics, history, or self-improvement. I am proud to call such a beautiful and innovative city like Fredericton my home. But I am also proud of where I came from and look forward to where my path leads next."Everything around you that you call 'life' was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use." - Steve Jobs
