I learnt to operate a bespoke delivery and management system called RiskHub, which was the key to all aspects of the delivery of approximately 25,000 Fire Risk Assessments each year.I was tasked with reporting the performance of the operational function within the company and externally, slicing large data sets to ensure consistent reporting for the business and its customers.I headed up the implementation of a new App for the 60 Fire Risk Assessors - a huge departure from the PDF’s and printed sheets that were used in the past. The new way of working gave the operations team live data to manage the field team, which had previously not been available. Show less

Giving the large administration team direct responsibility for the customers that they looked after allowed them to make their own decisions. Having a responsible workforce reduced the burden on senior management to have to intervene at every step of the way. Giving trust to the administrative team allowed them to grow and develop and become more capable and autonomous. Show less

FeaturePro attended 50-60 properties per day and delivered same day photography to all of those appointments.I grew the product range from 1 (floor planning services) to 8 different products - for example I created a way of displaying the front external building of a property so that it looked sensible and gave my clients an advantage over their competition in the highly competitive online space. This side-by-side front external photo can be seen on Rightmove & Instagram and has been taken on across the industry. I was the main contact for the clients, managing and growing trusted relationships with them, which enabled us to expand our reach within the larger estate agent groups who recognised that we had their best interests at heart and fuelled our growth.I recruited and managed a diverse range of people into the business, from low level administrators to a Sales Director and 10 photographers. FeaturePro gave a lot of young, keen photographers their first serious step into a career in photography and we created a culture of total honesty, where people were allowed to make their own decisions and make and learn from their mistakes. I navigated a property market that was hugely affected by the uncertainty caused by Brexit and when Covid struck I furloughed all of the staff and kept the business running – going back out into the field myself to attend properties creating a quick, efficient and cheap ‘moving image’ solution as a way to view properties remotely when it wasn’t possible to see them in person. I was able to bring the team back, one by one, until we had almost the full complement of staff back well before all of the Covid restrictions were lifted. Show less

When times got tough in the economic down turn I visited all of the estate agents in our local area and got a large new customer on board within 2 months. We went from talking about reducing our workforce in December 08 to hiring in January 09.I expanded our services to include Energy Performance certificates and Home Information Packs; this now comprises 50% of our turnover and enables us to offer a complete solution to our customers.I managed a team of 5 ensuring that we have the right mix of capabilities to deliver to our customers and have put in place simple systems and processes to optimise the time the team spend out generating revenue for the business.I commissioned a website, placed the business on search engines and organising all the services into a cohesive and sellable format.Through offering additional services we have been able to tap into our current client base to expand our business without having to fight every battle based on price, but leveraging our existing relationships and performance to grow. Our average monthly turnover has now increased by 33%. Show less
