The Cure Foundation (part of Best Medical) was established to bring radiation treatments and technologies to under served markets both at home and abroad.* Part of team to develop new linac. Tasked with moving the CyberKnife treatment system from a Stereotactic RadioSurgery (SRS) device, whose sales are largely driven by Neurosurgeons, to a general “whole body” treatment device (SBRT) more easily accepted by Radiation Oncology.* Part of strategic alliance team to evaluate evolving Siemens and Accuray relationship. I advised on new joint technologies and market potential for new products. * Met sales budgets each year and acted as customer advocate inside company for new treatment techniques.

An early stage, highly focused, dynamic start-up venture offering a unique, real-time solution for motion management during radiation therapy. Recruited from Varian. Calypso had no commercial team when I joined. Company was eventually, acquired by Varian.* Created sales, service and field operations, team of 28 people, from ground up. Sales grew from $0 to $13M in 2+ years. Exceeded targeted growth. Met all KPIs.* Developed T&C’s, booking guidelines, ‘quote to cash’ (prospecting to revenue recognition) system, commission system and kept 3 departments under operational budget every year.* Member of Calypso Medical Board of Management.

Recruited from Elekta to district sales manager, Southeast. Soon promoted to regional director, Midwest. Then promoted again to run the software group worldwide sales (Aria & Eclipse) in Palo Alto. Grew linac and system sales in Southeast territory by 75% in 2 years. Managed largest US sales region, Midwest, and grew sales by 135% in 3 years. Headed-up worldwide software sales, of 135 people, at head office. Changed Aria and Eclipse to SaaS model and grew sales by 45%.

Recruited by Philips Medical, UK. Ran linac sales in Africa & Middle East. Became Ex-pat in Saudi Arabia for all Philips Medical products (Cath-Labs to Ultrasound) and headed regional sales and marketing. Philips Radiotherapy was acquired by Elekta and I was transferred to Boston to reignite radiation oncology in the US.* Business manager for sales in Africa and Middle East via direct sales, agents and distributors. Consulted with World Health Organization (WHO) on “Linacs for Africa” project.* Sales and marketing director for 14 middle east countries based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Reported directly to Eindhoven, NL. Selected to attend, and graduated, Philips ‘Octagon’ future manager training program.* Regional sales manager, northeast, based in Boston. Grew sales for Elekta by 62% over 2 years. Eventually recruited by Varian.
