The Movement Church of San Antonio, www.mychurchmovement.com is a present-day model of the first century church. We started our church out of a conviction that the simple strategy used by Jesus Christ is still the most effective means of extending His kingdom to the uttermost parts of the earth. The Movement Church seeks to implement the principles of Acts 20:20:"I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house."Simply stated, we establish small groups that meet in homes during the week. On Sunday we meet at The Hilton Garden Inn @ 11 AM for worship, prayer and teaching. The Movement is designed with the conviction that the church is not a building, a location or even a time when Christians meet. The church is the body and the bride of Christ. The church is made up of the redeemed. We are the church, wherever we are, and whenever we gather.

This is a historic church with a rich history of expository preaching, private schooling (K-12) and evangelism. I led a staff of over 100. God inspired me with a vision that changed my life while at Castle Hills. I had the opportunity to write a book about it called, "One Blinding Vision: The Quest to See Jesus." Ultimately, the vision led me to step out on faith and start a ministry outside of the parameters of traditional church life. I am thankful to the people of Castle Hills for the blessing they gave me to plant The Movement Church of San Antonio, TX.

San Angelo, Tx

Exceptional Church with awesome people. We grew numerically as we reached the growing population around Lake Nasworthy. During my tenure we built a $3 million education facility, added additional office space and increased our parking capacity. We led the association in baptisms and engaged our world in international missions to China, Belize and Sudan.

Sherman, Tx

Sherman, TX is one of my favorite places in all the world. Our two sons started school there. Our church was on the cutting edge of using creative ministries to engage the city. God blessed us beyond our expectations. Our church doubled in size in a few short years. Then it doubled again. It wasn't long afterward that we initiated a capital stewardship program to expand our facilities. One of the things I still think about is how God moved extraordinarily during the invitations. People frequently flooded the aisles during that time for prayer and deliverance.

Tulsa, Ok

I was still in my 20's when God called our family to Tulsa. It was my second full-time pastorate. The church had weathered several storms and crises before we arrived. What we found in this fellowship were Godly, warmhearted people ready to begin a new day. The strength of the ministry--and the one that allowed us to grow--was the genuine friendships we established. We lived life together and had a blast doing it. It's fun to surf the Facebook pages of the friends we made there, just to see how we've all aged.

Allen, Ok

Cherry and I arrived in this small town to begin a new ministry in our mid-twenties. She was pregnant with our first-born son at the time. In fact, both of our sons were born here. The people were loving and blessed me personally by supporting my youthful approach to ministry. One of the challenges we faced was that the church building was old and dilapidated. For years, the church had talked about rebuilding the facilities. God granted us the favor to construct a youth building for the teenagers and enter a capital fundraising program to build a new sanctuary.

Nocona, Tx

Cherry and I were still at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth when I pastored this church. Basically, we drove to Nocona every Friday night and lived in the parsonage over the weekend. This was a farming community nestled between the Red River and the city of Nocona. It's claim to fame was Spanish Fort, a bona fide ghost town that still had a few residents living there. The small church tripled in size while we were there. We baptized more people than we had members during the first year. I am forever grateful that God allowed me this experience during my first pastorate. Many of the people I knew are in heaven now. I'll see them in glory!
