People frequently flooded the aisles during that time for prayer and deliverance.

God granted us the favor to construct a youth building for the teenagers and enter a capital fundraising program to build a new sanctuary.

Senior PastorValley View Baptist Church 1988 - 1990Nocona, TxCherry and I were still at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth when I pastored this church. Basically, we drove to Nocona every Friday night and lived in the parsonage over the weekend. This was a farming community nestled between the Red River and the city of Nocona. It's claim to fame was Spanish Fort, a bona fide ghost town that still had a few residents living there. The small church tripled in size while we were there. We baptized more people than we had members during the first year. I am forever grateful that God allowed me this experience during my first pastorate. Many of the people I knew are in heaven now. I'll see them in glory!
