Working on a premium model motorcycle I was responsible for the design, development, and testing of multiple packages. This included illumination devices, cosmetic plastic mouldings, structural aluminium forgings and castings, unique fasteners, and steel pressings.This work involved coordination with styling, product planning, assembly, In-house manufacturing, and external suppliers. I have had the opportunity to travel to Italy, Spain, and Thailand to work with suppliers to achieve the desired products.In addition to this my design responsibility I also oversaw the running of the mileage bikes for my project. This required the coordination of rider feedback, workshop activities, and stakeholder feedback for any highlighted actions.

Working as part of the technical development team I have been involved mainly in the development of new test rigs and labs as well as the upgrading of lab equipment and infrastructure. Projects.•Gas chromatograph installation – Working with the technical head to commission an upgraded system for the detection of argon gas leaks from double glazed window units. As part of this installation I was tasked to ensure the mechanical stability of the mounting surface and installation of gas and water supply to the system. After installation I worked with the technical head and manufacturer to trouble shoot a number of issues that arose due to the specialist application of the new system.•Flash photometry testing equipment – Working autonomously to ensure the suitability and function of equipment to test the light pattern and frequency emitted by a visual alarm device. As part of this project I arranged training sessions to the end users from the manufacturer, tested and calibrated the equipment to the requirements of the standard and wrote the operators procedures to comply with UKAS requirements. Additionally a business case was made to purchase automated equipment to reduce the required man hours from 2 weeks to ½ a day. This required collecting information such as testing cost, potential testing volumes and supplier quotes.•ABB 6 axis robot move and mounting – The previous mounting system had failed due to a high cycle duty. To resolve the issue the robot was lifted, new mounts marked out, secured and levelled to ±0.1°.•Ingress protection rig – Having assessed the current area a new rig was needed to expand the scope for testing in this area. Through research of different options a turn key solution was specified. As part of this project all aspects had to be considered from the mechanical considerations through to the business case for the solution.
