Chief Architect
CurrentLeading the Office of the Chief Architect that ensures "our platform converges while using the Cloud"; we are the custodians of architecture. Guided architecture from start-up to IPO. Specific areas of ownership include: Architecture Practice, Engineering Processes (including Architecture Quality and Design Review), Platform Investments (short and long term), AWS Strategic Relationships, and Patent Portfolio. Highlights include:Bringing leading edge AI technology to LegalTech including Retrieval Augmented Generation using VectorDBs and LLMs and other advanced techniques to improve legal outcomes. Bringing together large scale platform architecture and AI into a cohesive solution so that AI is embedded within products and platforms rather than a "stand alone" effort or group.Aligning business needs between Product and Engineering by designing and implementing scalable requirements capture and architecture practices around Distributed Domain Driven Design and Design By Contract (in the vein of DOMA from Uber). Increasing team velocity and quality by establishing actionable and scalable architecture practices around System Design and Architecture Quality Attributes (pioneered by the Software Engineering Institute at CMU) (e.g. Affordability, Performance, Availability). These practices were iteratively developed via trusted partnerships with product and engineering teams.Research and Development of platform systems and technologies that simultaneously enable scale and affordability through architectural leverage in the evolving LegalTech landscape including: precision search, scale-out processing, complex orchestration.Leader in defining critical platform capabilities including: Embedded Product Analytics, Scalable Micro-tenanted Configuration, Application Protocols.Principal designer and custodian of an Architecture Naming system that unifies our documentation, team ownership, FinOps, and Cloud Tagging Strategies into a integrated model.
