As Director of Fire Protection I provide fire suppression and fire alarm design, commissioning, and construction expertise. In this role I work on projects related to commercial, industrial, retail, grocery, educational, and recreational facilities. I travel to interviews with marketing team to acquire new projects, determine staff assignments and work flow, review resumes, interview potential new hires, perform employee reviews, provide on the job training, and determine staff forecasting. I visit construction sites, problem solve, provide options to clients, and write feasibility studies. I perform initial site visits for new jobs and new clients. I am in charge of fire protection team oversight where I settle disagreements, develop fees and budgets for new projects, offer engineering opinions and reports, design submittal reviews, write engineering specifications, perform QC/QA, review invoices, and review fire protection and alarm documents. I answer questions from employees, clients, architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. I review, sign, and seal all fire protection documents and keep up to date on the latest technology and standards by continued education.• Created and continue to grow a new design department and make Cyntergy AEC a more complete A/E firm with Fire Protection in house•Performed fire suppression design on over 600 remodel projects including over 750 scopes and site observation visits• Provided fire suppression and fire alarm services• Received the NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code Certificate of Education Achievement• Meet and exceed expectations with little or no direction• Located in the St. Louis area and travel to Tulsa every week to support the home office

As Director of Engineering I provide fire protection design, inspection, commissioning, and construction expertise. In this role I work on projects related to commercial, industrial, retail, grocery, religious, residential, educational, and recreational facilities. Projects include domestic sites involving remodels, expansions of existing sites, and new construction. I work on prototype development, conceptual design, and unique projects. Fire Protection design work includes fire pumps, water storage tanks, standpipes, double interlock, preaction, deluge, wet and dry sprinkler systems. I perform and manage engineers, inspectors, and coordinators to provide water supply and loss prevention site surveys, initial site visits, cold call support, Ansul hood system inspection, existing site scoping, performance and full design of fire protection systems on expansions, green field and remodel sites, insurance plan and shop drawing reviews, sizing of underground water systems for individual buildings and complete developments, city water system consultation, construction follow-up visits, site observation reports, code consulting, coordination with other engineering disciplines and architects, and manage contractor Q&A.•Created a new design department•Added Wal-Mart retail store remodel and full-design and distribution center remodel design•Expanded professional engineering licensing to 49 states•Mentored eight junior engineers who achieved their mechanical or fire protection professional engineering certification•Over 2100 water supply site visits and reports•Over 2000 remodel and design projects including over 4000 scopes and site observation visits

As owner and CEO I was responsible for accounting, marketing, human resources, and creation and maintenance of infrastructure including servers, network and routers, printers and plotters, and computers. I also served as Fire Protection and Mechanical Professional Engineer of Record responsible for fire protection, mechanical, and plumbing. I worked on system design, specifications, equipment research, design narratives, and the coordination of Professional Engineers and CADD operators. Projects encompassed grocery and drug stores and the general merchandise, pharmacy, and grocery areas. During my time at BSW I progressed from an Engineer in Training (EIT) to a Discipline Director. I gained vast fire protection experience designing commercial, industrial, retail, grocery, religious and hospitality facilities. These projects were a mix of remodels, expansions of existing stores, and new construction. The projects ranged in size from a 28,000 square foot temple to a 2,000,000 square foot distribution center and included sites internationally and in almost every state. I was responsible for the coordination of CADD operators, prototype development, maintenance, civil coordination, construction document production, permitting, and design narratives. •Responsible for two of the six divisions of Wal-Mart fire protection for the northeast and southeast regions of the US•Experience completing over 1000 new construction and remodel projects•Completed over 30 grocery facilities•Developed prototypes for temples and patron housing for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints including the first rollout sites in Cochabamba, Bolivia and Monterrey, Mexico

As a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer I worked on Wal-Mart Regional Distribution Center (regional, bulk, and food) projects located throughout the US and Mexico. Sites included one to two million-square-foot warehouses, five-bay truck maintenance garages for on-site maintenance of trucking fleets, full truck and trailer wash facilities with full water reclamation systems, fire pump houses and tank enclosures, guardhouses, and 48,000 gallon fuel storage and dispensing systems. I also worked on retail distribution centers for Toys R Us. Sites included a 900,000 square foot warehouse, truck maintenance garage, fire pump house, guardhouse, and fuel storage and dispensing systems. Other projects included photo processing labs, retail stores, and telephone company switching stations. •Designed with Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR), double interlock, and dry pipe fire protection systems•Experience with fire protection for conveyor systems, shipping sortation systems, high rack storage, administration and dispatch offices, shower and locker facilities, refrigeration and freezer, and kitchen and dining facilities•Design with Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) system to allow for delayed shutdown of facilities warehouse management system•Designed fire protection systems for high hazard aerosol, battery storage, welding, machine shop, and wood working areas
