Senior Resource Planner
CurrentRenewable Energy Solicitations & Contract Management:* Issuing competitive solicitations for new renewable energy projects. * Evaluating proposals received through solicitations and interviewing proposers.* Negotiating long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy projects.* Presenting PPAs to the City's utilities board and Council for approval. * Procuring renewable energy supplies for the City's voluntary 100% renewable energy program (PaloAltoGreen).Electricity Supply Portfolio Management:* Leading the development and implementation of the City's ten-year Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)* Trading electricity and environmental commodity products in conformance with the City's risk management policies. * Developing and maintaining the City's electric portfolio planning analytical models. * Reporting to key stakeholders on electricity supply portfolio costs and risks. * Developing annual commodity budgets. * Assisting in the development and implementation of commodity price risk management strategies. * Representing the City on external agency task forces and working groups. Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Reporting:* Developing and submitting the City's annual GHG emissions inventory reports.* Hiring consultants to verify these reports and supporting them through the verification process.
