My "wheelhouse" involves Software Development, DevOps, SRE, Prototyping, Project Coordination and Business Development.As a kid, my parents would bring home dead hardware from their business. This launched my love of computing as I would cobble-together workstations and servers. I embraced use of Linux at the end of the 90s and lived on it as my desktop environment for many years. I still use it daily, for server-side awesomeness.Life-long learning is my carrot. This meant a lot of rigourous testing of the behaviour of their awesome medical imaging software. I learned a fair bit about QA best practices and dabbled in a bit in writing unit tests for C++ applications. I also performed some Linux server admin tasks, on their internal revision control and issue ticketing system. This was my introduction to DevOps and one of my tasks included an active directory authentication integration (it's a lot easier to do this these days then back in 2007).I had an awesome time and CSI. At the end of my internship I was offered a Software Developer position. I decided to return to University to complete my second degree (I entered Engineering merely to use it for CS option credits, but then decided to complete that whole program as well). -
