Development of Asset Management system
Working in the 3D department at Smoke and Mirrors, I worked with the head of the department to plan, design and develop a wide range of tools for use both within the 3D department and also for use at a systems level. Working closely with the Head of Engineering, I designed and developed an archiving system for archiving, tracking and restoring completed jobs. I was also responsible for coordinating implementation of the tools that I developed with our departments in New York and Shanghai. As much of the 3D work done within the company was for advertising, I often had to produce tools on the very short timescale demanded by such projects, working with artists to ensure their requirements were met. In my time at the company I rapidly learned a wide range of new languages, including SQL, PHP, Perl and Ruby, and also learned how to use scripting within Realflow and Nuke.
