Internal Compliance Audit (ICA) Team: o Responsible for the strategy and operational excellence for the ICA Team consisting of three individual contributor managers. Consistently provide a strong leadership shadow and real-time feedback to ensure clear and concise audit reports summarize findings and value-added recommendations to enhance the company’s operations and compliance with regulatory requirements. In early 2020, successfully enhanced the ICA process to be more agile and time efficient, allowing for more audits to be completed throughout the year. Corrective Action & Preventative Action Management (CAPAM) Team: o Responsible for the strategy and operational excellence for the CAPAM Team consisting of four individual contributors. Consistently provide a strong leadership shadow and real-time feedback to ensure Corrective Action & Preventative Action (CAPA) Plans are developed timely in partnership with business partners for errors identified from multiple internal and external audits. This also includes performing validation audits in a timely manner to ensure CAPA Plans were implemented as expected. Co-developed the CAPAM Team in 2019 and took full ownership in summer of 2020 which included implementing significant process improvements and cost avoidance from CAPA Plans. o Expanded CAPAM Team’s scope of services by developing new processes with the Optum Pharmacy Segments (e.g., Home Delivery, Specialty, Infusion, Frontier, and Genoa Pharmacy) to develop preventative action plans to reduce financial recoveries from billing irregularities. In addition, developed a process with Pharmacy Quality Patient Safety Team to reduce pharmacy quality-related events and developed the future-state Optum Specialty Pharmacy Risk Evaluation & Mitigation Strategies Non-Compliance Event Corrective/Preventative Action Process.

Manage all aspects of the audit process while providing guidance to the audit team.Ensure clear and concise audit reports summarize audit findings and value-added recommendations to enhance the company’s overall internal control of its operations. Assist the Director and Senior Manager in the identification of the audit universe that creates the foundation for the development of the annual risk assessment and audit plan. Member of the project team designing and rolling out the GRC solution, MetricStream.
