In this role, I led the Programs Department in implementing projects aimed at reducing vulnerability to radicalization and violent extremism; youth economic empowerment; building resilience; hygiene and sanitation as well as combating gender based violence. Key Achievements:- Oversaw the piloting of the scientific and highly successful Youth First Kenya (YFK) Project,which was highlighted in 2019 during the Education Evidence for Action (EE4A) Conferenceby the Ministry of Education as an innovative and transformative education project in Kenya.- Led the implementation of the Jiongoze Project, which resulted in the development of one (1)innovative community policing approach dubbed the ‘Station Youth Liaison Officers (SYLO)’program that transformed police-youth partnership on security matters. My roles included designing sensitization, training and mentorship sessions on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) as well as CVE; research; supporting monitoring and evaluation activities; reporting; proposal writing; providing logistical or administrative assistance and supporting the work of fellow interns and volunteers.Key Achievements:- Developed a Social Media Guide which revamped the organization’s social media engagement and increased content generation by 50% on Facebook and Twitter.- Co-developed a Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) sensitization manual for pupils and led weeklytraining and advocacy sessions to eradicate the practice of FGM in Kajiado County, Kenya.- Developed noteworthy contributions which formed the blueprints that culminated in a training manual on the prevention of violent extremism and conducted weekly CVE training sessions amongst 395 pupils and 15 teachers in four (4) schools in Kajiado County, Kenya.*Engagement ended after I repurposed for a different role.
