Leadership of Largest Early Childhood Teacher Education College in New Zealand

NZTC is the largest provider of early childhood education qualifications in New Zealand (1800+ EFTS). It focuses on undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.Large provider of Health & Wellbeing programs at levels 2 to 6I am responsible for the government funding and compliance to government bodies, financial management of the college including setting up and operating financial management systems, creating and operating the budgets, cost modeling and purchasing. I lead the international marketing team as well as the enrolments administration. My core accountabilities are to:o Increase the SAC funding for the college;o Manage the financial services team;o Create and operate annual budgets; o Formulate and implement financial management systems;o Develop international marketing and business development which includes international travel for recruitment and participation in fairs and events; ando Develop off shore opportunities for the distance learning mode of learning.

AIS St Helens is the largest degree-granting private institution in New Zealand (1500 EFTS). Core accountabilities:o Establish strategic alliances with institutions to create pathways for students to enter AIS St Helens and move onwards; o Ensure NZQA and TEC compliance for student services;o Formulate and implement marketing strategies in New Zealand and internationally which included international travel for recruitment and participation in fairs and recruitment;o Formulate and implement business models and strategies designed to enable the institute to establish offshore programmes; and o Manage the academic registry and accommodation services departments.As a member of the AIS St Helens’ Management Team, the Product Development Sub-Committee, the Academic Board and the Maori Pacific Island Committee, I had input into the overall direction of the institute in the areas of general management, product development, academic regulations and internationalisation.

Center DirectorKey responsibilities included general management, academic supervision, student recruitment, marketing, advertising and business development. Budgets and business plans were created for the years 2000-2003. I shifted the institute into new, modern premises and gained important company contracts that expanded the revenue by 150% over the three years I was there.Director of EducationIn Abu Dhabi I worked in the head office team that saw the company expand into Dammam; Muscat; and Jordan. I did business development work in the West Bank and Gaza, Palestine, and Beirut, Lebanon. I supervised administrative and academic personnel in the Head Office and in each of the Centres, and supervised the contracts and programmes in the region. Academic DirectorI was responsible for the implementation of the academic and registration systems in the centre and the recruitment of staff and teachers. I set up innovative academic systems for the centre.
