Obtained a 100% recovery of the client's claims, plus recovered a portion of the client's attorneys' fees.-Plaintiffs' counsel in a federal class action concerning retirement healthcare benefits for public employees.-Presented oral argument to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on an issue of first impression concerning the federal courts' subject-matter jurisdiction.-Represented a group of online travel companies in trial and appellate litigation challenging a basic premise of the companies’ business models. Presented oral argument to the Supreme Court of Georgia.-Trial counsel for a major brokerage firm in multiple securities-fraud arbitrations. Recently, following a week-long trial in one of the matters, the panel returned a unanimous judgment in favor of the brokerage firm and rejected all of the claimant's claims.-Represented multiple underwriters in securities and RICO actions over offerings of mortgage-backed securities. Recently, on behalf of an Atlanta-based underwriter, obtained an early dismissal of an action brought in federal court in New York City.-Represented a construction firm in multiple disputes with cities and counties over public contracts. In one such dispute, persuaded the county to reverse its award of the contract to a competing firm and to award the contract to my client. From filing suit to obtaining the contract took just three weeks. - Represented former directors of a failed bank in connection with investigations by the FDIC, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Reserve.-On behalf of a construction company, successfully litigated RICO claims arising out of a publicly financed construction project, obtaining a 100-cents-on-the-dollar settlement of the client's claims.
