James Weber Email and Phone Number
I enjoy engineering exciting software projects and solving interesting problems in math and computing. I graduated from ASU in May with a BS in Computer Science. I chose my classes based on what I wanted to learn, and I let my grades reflect my dedication to improving myself. Outside of school, I work on personal projects. You can see some projects below, and more on my GitHub: https://github.com/jamesweber7.Programming Languages:JavaScript - JavaScript is my go-to for personal projects. I enjoy its ease of use, and I like being able to easily share programs online by building websites which demonstrate my programs.Python - I love python for making simple programs, doing quick proofs with Jupyter notebooks, or building larger programs and Flask apps.Java/C# - Java is the first programming language ASU computer science students are introduced to. I’ve made many programs in Processing and vanilla Java. I enjoy using C# with Unity for game development.C/C++ - My algorithms/data structures class used C++, and I’ve used C quite a bit as well. I enjoy explicit memory management and the speed efficiency the languages offer.HTML/CSS - I often use HTML and CSS in conjunction with my JavaScript projects, and enjoy working on the frontend and decorating web pages. I also really enjoy developing chrome extensions which use JavaScript to interact with HTML and CSS, and have many unpublished personal extensions that I use regularly on my browser.PHP - When I was new to frontend programming, I spent a couple months working on a PHP+Laravel website for hosting web games, similar to itch.io.SQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL - I’ve used PostgreSQL in conjunction with Java, and MySQL in conjunction with PHP. I’ve needed to learn how to use complex SQL commands in several of my classes at ASU, including SQL injection in my cybersecurity class.Lisp/Haskell/Scheme - I use concepts of functional programming to keep almost all of my programming very lambda-calculus functionally oriented.MIPS/RISC-V assembly languages - I simulated a processor in JavaScript which runs MIPS assembly code, and I built the assembler which assembles MIPS instructions into binary machine code. I needed to do a lot of research to make the processor, and one of my favored resources was the RISC-V specifications and documentation.x86 assembly language - I’ve needed to use x86 in a couple classes at ASU, and I enjoy the contrast dynamic CISC instructions give to the simple instructions making up RISC ISAs.
