The Director of Information Technology at the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) is responsible for all the IT operations for the single State agency. System Technicians in the IT department of MedWest Health System were frequently asked to more with less. Instead of viewing this as a hinderance I chose to approach it as an opportunity to expose myself to a wide variety of technology and systems that I may not have otherwise seen.Our team was responsible for the support of three hospitals, three medical centers, three Urgent Care facilities, and 20-30 private practices spread across four counties in Western North Carolina.On a given day a technician could find themselves working on tickets remotely with users over the phone, driving to another facility to deploy equipment, of or in virtually any department within the hospital (ex. I was charged with teaching courses on Professional Development, Human Resources, and Business Ethics.This position allowed me the opportunity to build a course syllabus, develop lesson plans, lecture, administer exams, and teach some of the finest students in Western North Carolina.

Mars Hill College provided me my first opportunity to be instructor in their Adult ACCESS program. This program was designed to allow working adults to complete their Bachelor's degree from Mars Hill College by allowing them to take evening courses at sites convenient to them. My course was hosted by Blue Ridge Community College in East Flat Rock, NC.This position allowed me the opportunity to build a course syllabus, develop lesson plans, lecture, administer exams, and teach some of the finest students in Western North Carolina.
