The software communicates via serial ports using the Win 32 Comms API functions. It uses the ECS (SEMI Equipment Communications Standard) messaging protocol.

    This division of the Lloyds TSB group was formerly known as Lloyds Bowmaker. From August to December 1997 I was contracted to help produce P/Link car finance software, which is used by car dealers in the UKInitially I came to the project three weeks before a deadline, so I spent a lot of time implementing specifications that had already been written, and fixing problems in the product.I specified and wrote extensions to the product to handle varying types of commission structures. I also specified and wrote an extension to the contract hire section of the program to produce a list of vehicles, and their monthly rental values, within a given set of parameters supplied by the user of the software.Specified and wrote a program to test a computer to make sure that it meets the correct standards to run the Lloyds software. The program involved using the Windows API to control a modem, and gather system level information about the computer, before writing information to a floppy disk for analysis by Lloyds staff.All coding was undertaken using Delphi.
