Optical Device Research and Development

During my time at the Viator Lab I have worked on improving the photoacoustic flow cytometry cancer diagnostic system. Past projects include designing new flow chambers for reusability and development of algorithms to characterize melanoma cell's signature acoustic frequency. My current project in the Viator Lab entails developing a method to culture metastasized melanoma and breast cancer cells after capture using a photoacoustic flow cytometry system.

During my time at the Tearney Lab I worked on designing and fabricating a rigid micro-OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) probe for in vivo imagining of upper airways. My project resulted in a probe of 4 mm in diameter with 2.5 micron lateral resolution.

Designed a Laser Speckle Rheology apparatus, which will be used to evaluate the biomechanical properties of tumors. Recipient of the Yao Su Student Research Prize for Best Poster Presentation.
