About James Winterhalter

Along with my lifelong passion for creativity, I have a passion for people. I love talking with people, working with people, and sharing ideas with people. My diverse interests led me to elect two fields of study. In May 2013 I will graduate with a Bachelors In Fine Arts (digital media concentration) and a Bachelors in Marketing from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. Through my studies and career experience I continue to recognize vital connections between the fine artist's process and the creative marketer's process. I approach my art work as a problem that needs to be solved. My goal is to transform my ideas into visual media that speaks to my viewers. I also need to present this solution in a way that is interesting and out of the ordinary, something that will be remembered and something to be inspired by - strikingly similar to the reactions we are taught, as marketers, to evoke in the minds of consumers. In addition to gaining this new perspective, the knowledge I have gained in my marketing studies, coupled with my artistic skillset, has given me the ability to both connect visual concepts with effective marketing solutions. Given my understanding of both aspects, I can communicate effectively with both strategists and creatives. My work experience has prepared me to take on greater challenges and further inspired my affinity for building brands. To me, few things are more important than the people you are surrounded by. I strive to spend my time collaborating with thinkers, artists, and innovators who are just as crazy as I am.
