Contracted to assist uMotif, who specialise in clinical trial data capture, with their backlog of reporting tickets. Worked on multiple studies and a variety of reporting solutions in a specialised team of three. Technologies used included Python, Docker, MySQL 8, Jira, Gitlab, AWS, and Android Studio. Completed all issues within the original time estimate.

Part of the simulation development team for Lateral Flow Devices (LFD), tasked with developing and maintaining the LFD Digital Twin responsible for predicting future performance the UK’s testing supply chain network logistics in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Developed a C++ package for the Large-scale Atomic/Molecular Massively Parallel Simulator (LAMMPS) used for the Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) of non-spherical particles that can be described using spherical harmonics.

The ICURe (“Innovation-to-Commercialisation of University Research”) Programme is training, funding and supporting a team, led by me, to determine whether there is a market for our thermal energy storage system. I have been funded to ‘get out of the lab’ and validate our commercially-promising idea in the marketplace.

I have developed integral components for an Ultra High Thermal Energy Storage system. At ultra-high temperatures of around 1600°C materials have a highly complex behaviour and can fail in a number of different ways. In this project, I investigated suitable materials for ultra-high temperatures and clarified how and why they might fail.

My thesis was titled "Modelling elastic dynamics and fracture with coupled mixed correction Eulerian Total Lagrangian SPH". This involved modelling problems involving large deformations and fracture using a particle method. It also involved a detailed literature review, understanding of and modification to complex theory including crack initiation and propagation, comprehensive computer programming, explaining and discussing results with supervisors, and disseminating results at conferencesLink: https://www.era.lib.ed.ac.uk/handle/1842/31290

•Developed detailed designs for commercial projects including a £15.2 million office block in central London and the new headquarters of "Banham Security" during an eight month placement.• Developed technical designs for water supply, lighting, drainage, heating and cooling,smoke detection and ventilation systems.• Worked closely with the design team which comprised of external specialists includingarchitects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors and the client in order to producerobust designs.• Communicated and interacted with various industries to procure appropriate hardwareand design advice.

Involvement:• First intern in the Cameron Leeds industrial / manufacturing engineering office.• Updating of outdated software which was vital to the running of the Industrial EngineeringDepartment.• Communicating with employees in Tool Crib and IT department in order to construct aneffective program.• Writing training material and personally training employees to effectively use the program.• Communicating with the Tool Crib and management to update hardware.• Self-Taught VBA and required understanding of SQL and Q-Basic.
