The National Association of People with HIV Australia (NAPWHA) is Australia’s peak non-government organisation representing community-based groups of people living with HIV across Australia. NAPWHA provides advocacy, policy, health promotion, effective representation, and outreach on a national level. As Senior Advisor, I work collaboratively with senior leadership, members, and stakeholdersto maintain NAPWHA's national leadership on policy, advocacy and contemporary healthissues facing people living with HIV in Australia. Reporting to the Executive Director, I:• Lead and implement effective communication and government relations strategies, focusingon ensuring effective working relationships at the federal level.• Optimise positioning of the organisation with regard to government policies and projects.• Monitor and advise on policy, regulatory and legislative changes.• Build strong and effective relationships with political and departmental stakeholders.• Coordinate briefing papers, and correspondence related to government, ensuring timely andaccurate information to key stakeholders.• Provide strategic advice and solutions to decision makers to advance NAPWHA’s advocacypriorities.• Provide internal advice and support for effective engagement with governmentstakeholders.• Coordinate meetings and representation with the Commonwealth Government.

As a Consultant, I:- Provided policy and strategy advice to the senior leadership team;- Led the conceptualisation, development and execution of grant applications (philanthropic and government);- Developed presentation resources, employment documentation and government correspondence with minimal supervision; and- Assisted NAPWHA’s Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director with miscellaneous tasks.

The Victorian Student Representative Council LTD (VicSRC) is Victoria's community-controlled, peak-body for students and student-aged young people that specialises in education and youth health advocacy. VicSRC represents students to Parliament, other government bodies, education organisations, media as well as other stakeholders and advocates for the issues that are important to them. VicSRC builds the capabilities of young people throughout Victoria as well as providing other services. As Board Member, I:• Lead the development, iteration and implementation of VicSRC's risk management system across strategic and operational matters, in consultation with VicSRC's CEO and Executive Committee, which is comprised by students and leads the organisation; and• Provide oversight and strategic advice to VicSRC's CEO and Executive Committee.

Health Equity Matters is the national federation for the HIV community response. Health Equity Matters provides leadership, coordination and support to Australia’s policy and advocacy response to HIV.As Policy Manager, I oversaw Health Equity Matters' policy and advocacy portfolio. I:• Led the development of organisational position papers, submissions and other documents profiling policy, legislative and regulatory reform to improve access to HIV prevention, testing and treatment.• Led the research, conceptualisation and preparation of policy positions and organisational responses to government inquiries and processes.• Cultivated networks of stakeholders, including Health Equity Matters' members, researchers, clinicians and others who can support Health Equity Matters' analysis and response to HIV.• Supported the development of materials and processes to enhance Health Equity Matters' strategic engagement across Federal Parliament, with the various arms of government and the public in relation to contemporary responses to HIV.• Supported Health Equity Matters' Strategic and Business Planning processes.

As a Senior Policy Analyst, I:• Actioned strategic deliverables arising from meetings of the Australian National Mpox Taskforce.• Identified systemic and institutional barriers to effective Mpox prevention, health promotion, community and service delivery in Australia.

Nous is an international management consultancy with over 750 people operating across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and Canada. As a Management Consultant, I:- Conducted a review of the NDIS’ referrals program, which included making recommendations to reduce the entry of younger people with disability into residential aged care.- Project managed an organisational restructure of a state-based LGBTQ+ health service (100-200 FTE)- Analysed state, national and international legislation relating to online child sexual abuse and exploitation on behalf of a national NFP and developed an advocacy plan. - Provided advice on governance structures and transformation strategy to a governmental department in charge of higher education and skills. - Supported a Go8 university to operationalise their 10-year strategy through the creation of a performance and evaluation framework. - Evaluated a state government initiative designed to encourage people to work for local government, utilising a human-centred design approach. - Supported an education advisory group, providing qualitative and quantitative analysis on why there are fewer women in skills education pathways.

Awards:- In 2015, I was named Referee/Member of the Year by the Keilor Basketball Referee Association. - In 2012, I was named best 1st year referee (male).As a basketball referee, I was selected to referee the:- 2016 Gold Medal U16 mens match at the Eltham Dandenong Basketball Tournament (largest junior international basketball tournament in the Southern Hemisphere).- 2015 Gold Medal U12 boys match at the Eltham Dandenong Basketball Tournament.- Victorian Junior Panel (2014, 2015 and 2016.)As a Referee Supervisor/Referee Coach, I oversaw and managed the welfare of 35+ referees across six venues each shift for four years and provided real-time advice to officials (new to elite) during games. In this role, I:• Supported referees from across Victoria with formalised performance evaluations and real-time feedback on conflict de-escalation, communication styles and rule interpretation. • Responded to complaints and queries from coaches, spectators, referees. • Handled referee pay and the finances of the Keilor Referee Basketball Association as Committee Treasurer for two financial years (both surplus).

180 Degrees provides pro-bono consulting services to NFPs in the community with the aim of helping those NFPs reach their full potential.As Team Leader, I led the development of a commercialisation, branding and evaluation strategy for a new mental health product on behalf of a NFP start-up. I:• Led and mentored a team of 4 project consultants; • Managed client-facing engagement and external meetings; and• Was responsible for the development and iteration of deliverables.

As a project consultant, I:• analysed the financial sustainability of a hospice care NFP organisation; and • developed an implementation plan to help the organisation expand revenue sources and deepen their relationships with current and prospective funders.

As a Residential Support Assistant, I:• Managed 12 direct reports to plan and project managed events for 150 tertiary students living on residential college;• Developed and delivered training on sexual consent, suicide prevention, proactive resilience and LGBTQI+ rights for students and staff;• Mentored current and emerging student leaders; and• Managed internal and external facing incident management processes.

Maurice Blackburn is Australia’s leading plaintiff law firm.As a paralegal, I provided post settlement administrative and other support across two class actions on behalf of:• Patients who had received hip implants that were allegedly defective, not fit for their purpose and were not of merchantable quality in contravention of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth); and• Customers of a payday lender that allegedly breached Queensland credit laws by effectively charging interest rates of more than 175 per cent per annum.

As a clerk, I: • Assisted lawyers in advocating to Federal Parliamentarians and other stakeholders on Indigenous land rights and the rights of children in detention; • Provided corporation structures advice and other support to the Special Counsel representing the Adnyamathanha people to prevent their sacred site from being used as a nuclear waste dump;• Drafted and finalised notice of appeal to Full Federal Court.

The Grattan Institute is an independent think-tank that produces public policy recommendations for Australia’s future. As Budget and Institutional Change Intern, I contributed to a report on youth unemployment and underutilisation in Australia.

I completed a 8000-word report on the Chinese Community’s access to aged care facilities in Victoria for Hong Lim MP, Member for Clarinda (ALP).

After a comprehensive, nationally-competitive selection process, I was selected to participate in a cultural exchange program that placed Australian students in the Washington DC offices of US Representatives and other Government Departments, under the guidance of Sen. Joe Lieberman's former Press Secretary, Eric Federing. Working in Congressman Jerrold Nadler (NY-D) office, I• Represented the Congressman's office at Caucus meetings (including the Congressional Equality Caucus), Congressional Briefings, as well to constituents and other offices; • Completed several research reports including a 6000-word research project on the implications of Section 116 of the Australian Constitution on the validity of a theoretical ban on halal and kosher food at the state and federal levels. This research was supervised by Dr Lisa Burton-Crawford (UNSW); and• Managed other community and administrative matters.I was selected by the fellow Australian interns to deliver a keynote address in the US Capital (Rayburn building) that reflected on the program, Australia's and the United States's bilateral relationship and opportunities for deeper collaboration between the countries in the future. My speech was attended by Former Congressman Shimkis (IL-R), Former Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen (FL-R), Congressman Nadler (NY-D), Congressman Courtney (CT-D), Congressman Carson (IN-D) and Australia's Deputy Ambassador to the US as well as Congressional and ambassadorial staff.
