Wing was a startup that connects singles in-person with professionally trained wingwomen, or Wings, to help them open conversations at social public venues. The service allowed clients to book a Wing for an appointment at a lounge, farmers market, or other pre-approved social spot to facilitate introductions with other singles nearby. Meeting singles with a Wing is a fun, professional, and highly effective at making lasting connections... We then extended the model to resemble Lyft, such that any woman anywhere could do our training virtually and become a Wing in her city that night.We got unsolicited nods from Google, Wired Magazine, and Shark Tank, and ultimately shut it down. I managed the Language Centre to raise R$30-40k (US$16-22K) per month for a rural orphanage while supervising an international staff of 12 paid and volunteer members in a Language Centre.We coordinated programming of language classes, home-stay arrangements, and cultural excursions while creating a new website with an international team of programmers, artists, and social entrepreneurs.
