• Managed a project to improve the whole-life sustainability of furniture usage, with a particular focus on the management of redundant furniture, in line with the University Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero targets. • Conducted a high-level process review, which included running a process mapping workshop to identify inefficiencies, applying the 'Lean' continuous improvement methodology. • Developed and implemented a ‘three-pronged’ solution. (1) Improve awareness of, and efficiency of, internal reuse of furniture items. (2) Expansion of external donations, including a ratified process to minimise risk. (3) Improved inventory management through implementation of technological solutions• Successfully drew on support from a variety of colleagues to ensure project success, particularly in relation to the legal and financial aspects of asset donation. • An active member of the Estates Office Waste and Recycling Improvement Group, overseeing a broader programme of sustainability projects, of which the furniture project was one. • Supervised and mentored a Level 2 Facilities Apprentice. This allowed greater progress for the project, and an opportunity for me to further develop my leadership and management skills. • In addition to core project responsibilities, supported broader facility management activities, gaining a valuable insight into the management of a 720-acre campus, home to over 35,000 staff and students. In particular: • Management of the 2022 Arrivals Weekend, welcoming circa. 7,000 new students; • Contributing towards the ‘Summer Works’ to ensure readiness for the new academic year • Supporting Warwick’s Athletes Village for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Game

• Focussed on building relationships with local communities, in order to enable the University to deliver on our civic mission, support our regional leadership strategy, and ultimately being a good neighbour who can deliver positive change in the local area. • Managed a project to improve engagement with, and provision for, young people in an area of Coventry which borders the campus, in response to extensive community engagement work to understand the challenges and opportunities in the area.• Supported the delivery of the Universities Regional Leadership Strategy, by proactively aligning internal stakeholder priorities and impact opportunities across the region.• Delivery of stakeholder engagement activities with key regional partners, supporting the Senior Leadership to effectively analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of engagement on key relationships.

Member of the Local Governing Body, with responsibility for Special Educational Needs (SEN). The local governing body, provides support and challenge to the Academy Senior Leadership Team, in relation to academic performance, curriculum, teaching, student destinations, behaviour management, student support, financial management and any other responsibilities as delegated by the Trust Board.

• I was responsible for managing a suite of business improvement projects, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, to improve efficiency and deliver an improved service to customers. An outline of these projects follows. • Review and improvement of the management the implementation of new client systems. This included a full process review, reworking of the project methodology and overseeing the creating of a new approach. • Preparation for, and first stage off, achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification - a National Cyber Security Centre accreditation scheme. • Implementation of a new Information Security Management System, evaluation of existing information security policies and procedures, enabling progress to be made towards ISO27001 certification. • Scoping and evaluating options for the procurement of a new financial management system. • Conducted a SWOT analysis of MSL’s position in domestic and international markets, for presentation to the MSL Board of Directors, in relation to broader review and strategy refresh of their international growth objectives. This was done through cooperation with in-country Trade Advisors through the Department for International Trade.• In addition to project responsibilities, supporting the CEO with risk management, business strategy, review of core operation software suite and overall operational efficiency.
