I work as an editor at BIBA Medical, primarily overseeing the website, quarterly newspapers and social media channels for NeuroNews - a specialised publication featuring news and expert insight from the neurointerventional world.In this role, I have interviewed a number of world-renowned physicians, and attended conferences across Europe and North America. I have sent a total of 15 editions of NeuroNews to press (as of October 2024), writing the vast majority of the stories for the publication's print and digital output over the past three years, as well as working on numerous industry-sponsored articles, helping to produce video content, and growing its social media following from 10,000 to 24,000 in that time.I am also the current editor of the digital-only publication Cardiac Rhythm News, which covers heart rhythm management and the electrophysiology space, having assumed this role in July 2024.Between September 2023 and July 2024, I was the editor for Spinal News International, producing much of the online content, e-newsletters and social media output for this digital-only publication. Additionally, I was the editor for the kidney care-focused publication Renal Interventions at its inception. Between March 2021 and November 2022, I sent the first five editions of this title to print as well as growing its online following significantly alongside my work on NeuroNews.Prior to this, I was a journalist at NS Media Group/Progressive Media International for 18 months, mainly writing about medical devices but also the healthcare industry more generally. In addition to producing hundreds of news stories and feature articles in this time, I helped to grow NS Medical Devices' online readership greatly.Over the years, I have built up a portfolio of freelance sports articles - mostly covering football, tennis and snooker - for sites including These Football Times and From The Stands, as well as my personal blog, The Big Matches.Through training at the Northern Echo, and my time studying journalism at the University of Sheffield, I gained invaluable experience of life in a newsroom. I also became proficient in news and feature writing; interviewing; court reporting; broadcast journalism; and magazine production. I have achieved the NCTJ 'gold-standard' Diploma in Journalism, which includes 100wpm in Teeline shorthand and covers a range of key topics - from media law and ethics, to print and online production.
