I am a hard working dedicated individual that strives for the highest standards in all that I do. I have worked with the construction industry now for over 30 years, working as Roof tiler, plumber and electrician. This experience helped me when I first joined Barratt Homes. I have also managed a supply chain business giving me a great insight into the day to day issues the supply chain has. I believe that this along with a proven track record at achieving at the highest level will help me achieve my career goals and make me an asset to any house building business. Whilst working at Barratt Homes I along with my team secured numerous internal awards progressing to national stages within the company. I also achieved NHBC Pride In The Job award 2006 for my very fist site in Oldbury. I then moved to A large site in Wednesbury working with a great team that shared my ambition and work ethic achieving a Second Pride In then Job award. We progressed through the stages of the awards and in January 2008 we won the Supreme Award in the large builder category. This was followed the year after with the West Regional award. I joined Choice Plumbing & Heating purchasing 50% of the business in 2010. The company’s turn over at that time was in the region of £860k. I was responsible for all site works and business development. Over the following 5 years I drove the business setting up the infrastructure to enable us to increase our workload whilst maintaining excellent customer service. I introduced internal staff such as customer care manager and operative and a buyer. I was able to hold monthly management meetings with my contracts managers to go through reports produced to ensure all costs to the business were accounted for. This along with producing quality work on site and excellent relationships built with key clients lead to an increase in turnover and net margins. As a contracts manager now I work with my teams to empower them to achieve the very best standards in both quality and Health and Safety. My current teams have achieved Pride in the Job awards this year along with LABC awards and highly commended Considerate Constructors awards. I manage the sites to ensure we build high quality plots on time whilst controlling costs. I lead from the front and truly believe that my teams want to work for me as I would not ask them to do anything that I would not be prepared to do. I often help out at weekends giving the teams a moral boost especially at half and full year. It helps the teams go the extra mile for you and is invaluable.
