I was a Buyer/Manager at Barossa Sportspower, which was part of a company called The Co-op. The Co-op included other store like Foodland, Mitre 10, Toyworld, Betta Electrical, Menswear, Surf store, Ladies fashion, Manchester, Furniture and Carpet Court. With my role as Buyer/Manager at Barossa Sportspower my responsibilities’ consisted of me managing a team of 4 to 5 staff. This would involve training and developing the staff and having S.O.P's in place to help guide them through their development. I would coordinate with Brands/reps. tech sessions either at the company’s showrooms or at Sportspower. This helped serving, selling and gave confidence to the staff, which increased sales. As new product would come into store it would get merchandised and displayed in store. This would either be I or another staff member. With all product purchased this would have to be added to the O.T.B., which I was responsible for maintaining the budgets and not over spending. On a two to four week basis I would have reps. make appointments to come and visit and refill stock line’s plus add in or take out product that weren’t working.Product selection for Sportspower would either be via conferences, product shows, (either at store or in company showrooms) and by email. I selected all footwear, apparel and hardware and allocated when it be delivered to store, which reflected my O.T.B.I would have to report to the Dept. Store Manager/CEO with sale/wage budget results and future sale/wage budget projections, plus presenting a strategic plan for the store, which included a 12 month plan of Sportspowers Advertising/Marketing program. Through the 12 months I would also liaising with the local news papers with advertising and market events. I would also selected the product that would get advertise in the papers to help drive sale's.

I started here in a casual position and worked my way up to a full time Supervisor/Team leader role.
