I'm more interested in how authentic stories can influence and shape public opinion to build awareness for a cause, enhance the reputation of an organization, motivate and inspire donors, or, when necessary, mitigate the effects of a crisis.My strategic storytelling and public relations helped a Member of Congress secure passage of historic national security legislation. For an international non-profit, I crafted stories to cut through the clutter of an election year and motivate donors to provide over 3 million meals for families suffering economic hardship due to COVID. At another non-profit, I led efforts to secure $1.6 million in grants for mentoring emerging leaders. As a sought-after media trainer, I've helped c-suite executives and elected officials more effectively share their stories through broadcast media. As a ghostwriter, my stories have shaped opinion in The Wall Street Journal, Fox News Opinion, Forbes, and numerous local publications. As a battle-tested crisis communications leader, I've used the power of story to manage and mitigate the effects of multiple national media crises.My focus has always been on stories that matter ... from on-air television news broadcasting in a Top 25 market, to staff leadership roles at the U.S. House of Representatives, to advising national and international non-profits on public relations and crisis communications.
