I lead the South West region in the UK Youth Parliament, supporting new Members of Youth Parliament to be strong representatives for their constituents and to plan and run effective campaigns.I am also part of the national governance board of the UK Youth Parliament, taking the key strategic decisions on the direction of the programme and planning and delivering regional and national events.The UK Youth Parliament, and so this position, moved from the British Youth Council to the National Youth Agency in Spring 2024.

Developing and growing a network of senior leaders and youth representatives from across third sector youth/environmental organisations to learn from each other and give young people the opportunity to influence the work of these organisations.

The UK Youth Parliament, and so this position, moved from the British Youth Council to the National Youth Agency in Spring 2024.

I was the elected representative of young people in Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. I led a campaign on public transport, meeting with the Operations Manager at Stagecoach to discuss findings from a survey which reached over 200 young people. I met with Alex Chalk MP, Laurence Robertson MP, Martin Horwood MEP, Jo Swinson MP and others during my time in office. I also visited the European Parliament and spoke from the Despatch Box of the House of Commons.

Home-Based

As Chief Operating Officer for this new youth-led charity, I had three main areas of responsibility:- Organisational Leadership and Programme Management: I worked with the CEO and Board to develop the organisation's high level strategy, and was the senior leader for delivery, ensuring projects came to fruition effectively through line management of and support for the Director team.- HR: I led the HR function of the charity, developing the policies and processes needed to employ staff as well as work with freelancers and volunteers. I managed several rounds of recruitment, shortlisting applications, chairing interview panels and managing staff induction.- Events: I held executive leadership responsibility for the delivery of the Local Conference of Youth project, an event we were selected to run on behalf of the United Nations, as part of the COP climate negotiations processes in 2021 and 2022. Online in 2021 and in person in 2022, led the staff team, managed organisational partnerships, developed the programme, secured funding and was ultimately responsible on the day for the smooth running of the event.

Homebased

I led preparations for the Education Ministers Summit, planning to bring together education ministers at COP26 in Glasgow in November 2021. My role involved action planning and coordination, liaising with other team members as well as our external partners and leading on engagement with the Department for Education and Cabinet Office.

I led recruitment and management of over 100 volunteers, as well as our blog and social media output and the outreach, selection, engagement and support for our 330 delegates from 140 countries. I also co-designed the programme and led on coordinating the logistics of the global, online 2-week event.
