I am passionate about primary care with a special interest in LGBTQ healthcare. I manage a large primary care service across 8 locations. As a transwoman who transitioned on the job in 1998, lived through Katrina (acting Chief of Staff), successfully served as a VA Chief of Staff in Oregon, and returned to the city I love to create and expand VA primary care services, I have a unique sensitivity to diversity and a tolerance to hard work. I retain my mid-Western work ethic and anticipate life long learning in medicine, management, and life. I am married, have two adult children, and am co-parenting a precocious 17 year old woman.Any job opportunity would need to offer a challenge and the opportunity to bring my intuition and creativity to bear. As a physician, I value listening, observing, and arriving at diagnoses with patients and I enjoy case review.
