Project description:Work with French railway company SNCF to develop a transforming queue divider for train stations that can be folded, rolled, or stacked for easy storage. Workers must also be able to deploy the wall quickly, and it should be aesthetically pleasing.Responsibilities:Draw inspiration from origami designs and existing objects.Use Rhinoceros to design and model protypes, taking into account material, scale, and ease of use.Fabricate the prototypes using laser-cut wood or paper, 3D printed parts, fabric, and other materials.Document prototypes for presentation by taking clean photos and videos.Project description: Work with SNCF to develop an inflatable spoiler to decrease drag forces on their trians. The spoiler must inflate to span the gap between trains when the train is moving, and deflate out of the way when the train is stopped.Roles:Use Rhinoceros to design and model different spoiler geometries.Make the prototypes by drawing the designed pattern onto paper, tracing and cutting the pattern from heat-sealable fabric, and using heat sealers to make the spoiler airtight.Document prototypes for presentation by taking clean photos and videos.
