I joined Purcell Miller Tritton in 1988 having previously worked as an Architect in both private and public sectors with Michael Manser Associates and Hastings Borough Architects. During 1989-1991 I gained a Post Graduate Building Conservation Diploma at the Architectural Association in London.I have worked on a wide range of historic building projects, condition surveys, fabric analyses, conservation plans and strategies. Whether exploring ways to conserve the heritage aspects of a building or making sensitive interventions I get great satisfaction from creating the best possible value for my clients.I am passionate about building a body of conservation knowledge though disseminating my experience through lecturing and writing articles the subject. I love the challenge of taking a ruined building, making it stable, then finding a suitable reuse to secure its future.Specialties: My specialist skill lies in taking conservation projects with initial potential and building them into viable schemes working with the key statutory bodies and the heritage lobby in general.I have a thorough knowledge of traditional building crafts, materials and conservation techniques as well as modern design which is applied to the repair and design of a variety of building types.I have particular expertise in stonemasonry conservation, building limes and historic paints.
