ENERGY - I've had the good fortune of working in this space my entire professional career. Oil and gas drew me back home to Calgary from Queen's University in Kingston following graduation in 1992 - and I became hooked by the entrepenurial spirit of the industry. Combing through subsurface data and generating ideas became a passion - alongside outdoor pursuits (rugby, skiing, hiking) that put healthy energy to work in my spare time. Honing exploration skills at both large and small companies under the tuteledge of wise mentors provided a base and confidence to join junior E&P companies Storm Exploration and Storm Resources at start-up. As our industry grows and tranforms the flow of ideas and energy continues to provide new and exciting avenues to explore: CCUS (Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage), clean Hydrogen & Helium adoption / extraction as well as technical innovation to drive down emissions. Simply put - it takes energy to put these ideas to work.
