Working on the Rio Tinto Alcan site decommissioning plant, machinery.

General maintenance of plant machinery,including threaded pipefitting,Welding high pressurized (stainless/carbon) steam,air and water pipework using TIG/MMA process.General day to day operating of machinery (fork lift trucks and cherry pickers).

Welding burning and repair of open cast site machinery including buckets, conveyors, vehicles and diggers.

• Welding of steel pots and aluminium buzz bars for production requirements.• Steel MIG welding carried out on pot shells involving oxy acetylene burning of damaged steel, shell grinding of steel and re welding new steel into place.• Steel MIG welding of dual metal flexibles to cathode bars on refurbished pot shells.• Aluminium MIG welding when reinstalling aluminium flexible to aluminium buzzbar.• Aluminium MIG welding of plates which are individually stacked and built up to the required thickness to form an efficient electrical connection.Welding of floorgrills using mma process

• Contracted to support welding operations on Alcan Aluminium Smelter.• Welding in a live magnetic field.• Oxy acetylene burning of steel cathodes on the pot shells in preparation for new shells to be installed.• MMA welding of pot-line floor grills for repair.
