Fully administer the operations of Uniformed Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Special Operations Unit and the Special Victims Unit to include, but not limited to: Officer safety and situational awareness, interviewing skills, conflict resolution, verbal command and control skills, conduct and review performance evaluations of staff, assign and direct subordinates, coordinate on-scene activities / operations, deploy personnel in emergency or disaster situations, supervise complex case management, preserve and process crime scenes, oversee/conduct overt/covert surveillance of suspects and maintain adequate supervision of personnel, budget management, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams with outside entities and agencies. I began my law enforcement career in 1997 and have served most of my career in some type of investigative and supervisory position. Currently employed with the Highlands County Sheriff's Office as a Lieutenant, supervising the Special Victims Unit within the Criminal Investigations Division. I have served in many capacities within the Law Enforcement Bureau. Currently supervising detectives, victims advocates, sex offender and predator unit while working closely with a complex multidisciplinary team consisting of the Department of Children and Families, Children’s Advocacy Center, guardian ad litem, and other entities. I have investigated and supervised criminal incidents such as homicide, robbery, sexual battery, narcotics, computer crimes, financial crimes, cold case investigations and have been successful in those capacities. I have testified at trials, hearings, grand juries and depositions at the state level of prosecutions as well as trials in the federal system. I’m presently supervising the Special Victims Unit within the Criminal Investigations Division. Currently a member of the Florida Sheriff's Association Cold Case Review Team. I have been involved as a member if the Crisis Negotiation Team (hostage negotiator), and a statewide Child Abduction Response Team and Cold Case investigations. I have supervised detectives, crime scene personnel, sex offender unit, uniformed patrol and special investigations where the primary areas of investigations revolve around person’s crimes and illicit drug enforcement. I have more than 3700 hours of specialized training in numerous fields within law enforcement and have successfully solved many high profile cases.
