I have gained most of my computing experience while at Savant Ltd. I moved from Architectural Engineering to Computer Science while studying at the University of Nottingham, this later led me to the University of Bolton were I received my BSc(Hons) in Computer Science. More recently, I transitioned into the Nuclear industry with EDF as Plant Computing Systems Engineer which has introduced me to vast array of technologies and human performance practices.I started attending Savant before I graduated in 2011 and they employed me once I finished my degree. From here I have been exploring the delights of OpenVMS and OpenVMS clustering with associated infrastructure. Working on various projects including; full split-site OpenVMS cluster hardware upgrades and a data-centre migrations, both without service downtime. While at Savant I have gained a vast array of skills from OpenVMS clustering booting from backend storage subsystems to building HA VMware environments to migrate and operate legacy SCO UNIX bespoke applications. Moving to EDF Energy, this has exposed me to more operational technology and data acquisition systems to enable plant indication and control. This includes cross compatibility between both older and newer IT based technologies. Personal interests include anything remotely technical or mechanical. Also like to keep fit with running, swimming and hiking when time allows - a healthy body promotes a healthy mind. This includes participating in nationwide running events and I am also welfare officer of the local swimming club.
