-Responsible for the administration of a multisite local municipal government including servers, networking equipment, and communication circuits.-Utilize Cisco, HP, Juniper, and Fortigate routers, switches, firewalls, and security.-Coordinate a variety of technology projects to include fiber installation for city facilities, GIS installation, and server consolidation and replacement.-Manage all City data backups with Symantec Backup Exec and work with Iron Mountain to ensure offsite storage of data on a weekly basis.-Facilitate all technology purchases for the City conforming to VA Procurement policies and procedures to include researching, specifications, and vendor relations throughout the builds.-Manage IT budget for entire department.-Recommend and evaluate network technology solutions to Department heads and City Management.-Assist Police and Fire Departments on maintaining and configuring Firewalls, VPNs, servers, and mobile data units (laptops in Police and Fire vehicles) abiding by set security practices.-Implemented City-wide fiber network eliminating $50,000/yr in reoccurring costs for third party circuits.-Manage a 2003/2008 Active Directory environment containing 500 users, 325 workstations, 30 application/member servers, 5 DC’s.

-Responsible for the design, implementation, and support of small to medium size customers specializing in Voice Over IP PBX systems.-Utilized a variety of hardware including Cisco, Enterasys, HP, Juniper, Zultys, and Polycom.-Implemented Quality of Service controls to effectively manage voice and data traffic for inter-office connections ranging from local to multinational.-Installed and supported multisite WAN circuits including T1, Cable, VPN, and MPLS.-Provide support to sales staff in product demonstrations and proof of concept to potential clients.-Recognized in InfoWorld 2005 for top 100 best projects of 2005 for our multisite voice and video solutions.
