Before I knew it, I began working with students needing help in biology, human biology, anatomy & physiology I and II, microbiology, genetics, E.M.T. / paramedic training and critical and applied thinking for nursing. During this time I was able to coordinate the ability for my access to the science labs for hands on tutoring, which had never been allowed before by the science faculty. I became a well-liked member of the center which led me to a booked schedule, usually 2 weeks in advance, as my students returned frequently. This opened me to the idea and enjoyment of collegiate education. Show less

Pension plans. Annuities; accumulation and payout.I was actively recruited by The Hartford to work within their demanding customer service department. This was my first venture into the corporate cubicle environment. I excelled and progressed quickly within my area of responsibility. I was promoted to an evening supervisor, dealt with both internal and external conflicts and finally developed and wrote an operations manual for our department which was used not only by our North American operations but was used to launch The Hartford’s new venture in China. Although they wanted me to stay, I realized that the cubicle life was not for me. I have taken the time since to invest in myself, my education, my family, my health and my return to a career in which I will again jump out of bed for daily.I have since been in contact with several amazing people that I had worked with and found out that the company now uses my phone conversations as training tools for their new hire classes as examples of how to handle various situations. This was a pleasant surprise of which I am proud. Show less

In this time I truly honed my skills which led me to future success. I was responsible for the normal funeral directing responsibilities but made my name in the art and science of embalming. I specialized in restorative art, which I found was especially lacking in my profession as a whole. I was being asked to perform my skills for many funeral homes in New Hampshire and for the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Concord.
