You will note upon review of my resume that I have a long standing interest in Biology, Animal Sciences and the Environment. I have completed a BSc. with a Major in Biology from the University of Victoria and I have nearly completed a second BSc. in Environmental Science. I have numerous hours of lab technician experience including sample collection, data analysis, record keeping and laboratory and instrument maintenance in adherence with applicable GCP and GLP policies. My math skills are extremely strong with a calculus level of comprehension and I work well individually and as a team member. I am particular about working in a clean and sanitary environment and I would adapt to this job immediately. I have taken University courses in animal physiology, fish biology, animal behaviour, ecology, anatomy, microbiology, ecotoxicology, biochemistry, math and calculus, statistics and other related courses and I volunteered at WILDARC rehabilitation centre for wild animals where I worked in the animal care unit and handled, cleaned after, cared and fed such animals as birds, raccoons and squirrels. I have experience with aquatic life from volunteering at the marine ecology centre for a year where I opened and closed on my own, cleaned and maintained tanks and fed the different organisms as well as educated the public. I am described by others as hard working, reliable and very loyal to my employer. You will find me to be flexible and coachable as well as ‘safety aware’.
