I started freelance in 2011 for RTR as a trainee camera operator and editor and progressed on to fulfil a variety of roles working in a small production company, which has given me the opportunity to learn and develop a wide range of skills. I have been able to organise and facilitate the pre-production of media content including scriptwriting, shooting, directing, heading the news team, and then seeing that role through to completion of that content, liaising with any third party suppliers & contributors as needed. As Creative Director and Producer and Head of Post- Production I am able to contribute to high-quality content supported by a marketing strategy and campaign that will drive product, brand awareness and maximise a companies return on investment. I have also been involved in development work on concepts & scripts for potential TV series including written and illustrative content, and production of treatments and other media submitted to commissioning editors.

I have been involved as part of Linnell Illustration in writing and developing a possible children’s books and television series for animation. Also I have been involved in the designing & consultation stages of Apps for the iphone, ipad.

As part of my PGDE I was teaching at level 2 and level 3 at Bury College (FE) working with students ranging from 16-25. Courses I taught on included Advanced Diploma in Creative Media and BTEC National Diploma in Interactive Media teaching a range of different disciplines including video creation, from conception working through the process of screenwriting through to production and the analysis of film & video and the contextual and financial aspects involved. I also taught adults an introductory class into screenwriting and held a class for a group of teachers at Bury College teaching them how to use Final Cut and implement it into their media course and I provided one 2 one tuition in film making and editing, on a more in-depth basis. The subjects I have taught are general Art & Design L2 & L3, Screenwriting, Photography, Video creation and contextual studies. I also was involved in the analysis of this curriculum area , curriculum development , e-learning and blended learning and new media advances and creating projects & schemes of work.I have found this experience invaluable in my current role as I have been involved in filming in colleges and other educational environments.
